Today was a long day at internship, I was there for a total of 10 hours today. I started at 8:00am and I left at 6:00pm. I attended lecture and was able to see Dr. Boyce present her PowerPoint on laser. In lab today the students had to get graded on their maxillary impressions that they do on another student. I was grading students on their maxillary impressions. When students were done taking their maxillary impressions they had to pour up the impressions to make a study model. I helped the students when they were pouring up their model because this was new to them today. A lot of the students got the hang of it and did a great job. Also in lab today the students got to use the laser on a pig jaw. This is always an exciting lab for the students since it is their first time using the laser. In small groups of 2-3, students would work with Dr. Boyce using the laser on the pig jaw. The students will have to complete a laser safety quiz to be able to use the laser on the clinic floor. After the last lab which ended at 5:00, Professor Miklos and I had a few things to take care of. Along with cleaning up the lab we had to make sure one of the PowerPoints were working because students were having trouble with opening it this morning. We also had to put in a lot of grades which consumed our time after the last lab. Since we had grades to put in I had to stay a little while longer after that last lab.
