For the lecture portion of internship today the students had their very first exam. It was through lockdown browser and it was taken on their laptops. During the exam I was available to help answer questions and get some students lockdown browser to work. After the exam, there was a short lecture for the students about dental cements. The lab was very busy today. The students had a lot of lab exercises to do. I had checked reference cards of students today as well as help the students with all the lab exercises. The students had to place a perio pack, and mix together 2 different cements one being an IRM cement and the other was Zinc oxide cement. The students did fairly well with the cements but when it was time to suture a banana some students had some difficulty. To practice placing sutures the students were given a banana and peeled it and sutured it where the peel was. I was demonstrating to students who were having difficulties how to suture, and I also was helping students alongside them as they were suturing the bananas. Overall, todays lecture and lab went very well and the students did a good job.
